Verified Better than the best! Tourio GetawaysTourio getaways and their owner , Sona, went above and beyond to ensure we had the trip of a lifetime on our recent visit to Serengeti for the Migration.From the outset from making the reservation, to us all reaching home, Sona helped us the whole time. No task or request was too big for her. Bush travel by tiny aircraft can be temperamental and unreliable but Sona was on top of things throughout and even made the airline land at the international airport in Nairobi to ensure we didn’t miss our connecting flight. On arrival she personally welcomed us with hats and anticipated that we maybe hungry, she had snacks arranged in the car for us.She was constantly in touch with the hotel and the guide to make sure that we were happy and comfortable as well as being in touch with us. Tourio Getaways will from now on be my go-to agent for Safari’s and Zanzibar, and I highly recommend them! We are really missing this trip of a lifetime, and I know that it wouldn’t have been as phenomenal without Sona’s attention to the minutest detail and constant on the ground monitoring and knowledge. Sona, 20+ years in the business is very evident and her attention to bespoke, personal details is second to none!! We had the most incredible trip all thanks to Sona Thakrar at Tourio Getaways for planning and following through on the execution of every detail with the itinerary! The Entim glamoing was out of this world experience, the private safari car and driver were the best! We also had the most amazing hot air balloon ride with a well trained pilot from South Africa who gave us a very smooth and safe experience overlooking the wildlife below! TOURIO organized an absolutely fantastic and well planned 2 weeks tour of the Serengeti and Zanzibar. Highly personalized and guided tour. We were without worry from beginning (landing at airport in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) to the end (leaving Dar) they were there to help and guide us. All hotels, camps, cars, internal plane trips were perfectly booked. Timely reminders (daily). experienced drivers (like Peter in Dar) and driver- guides like Nurdin (Serengeti) and Justin (Sayari Camp) were knowledgeable and showed us a lot. In 35 years of traveling globe , this was hands down the best vacation . We felt pampered. Seamless trip with attention to our every need. We used Tourio, specifically, Sona, to plan and book a six day safari in The Serengeti and in Nyerere. She did all the really complicated stuff like the flights and transfers. The whole experience was a joy from start to finish.She is very diligent when you are ‘in country’ constantly checking we are at each airport, checking in, making sure we have any driver’s contact details.When a flight time changed, she rebooked us onto another one without hassling us and just sent us the new tickets.She also arranged transfers for legs of our trip that we had booked ourselves.The two camps were fantastic and we would unreservedly recommend her to anyone trying to put together a trip.Posted onVerified A dream come true holiday very friendly and hospitable . Sona crafted our trip based on our likings, everything from our stay to our travel was looked after and cared to fullest.
